Digital art
Paintings and illustrations created digitally are done entirely in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. This illustration was created as a 2-part series. The first view shows the parent’s perspective saying goodnight to a child with a bed of stuffed animals, and this is the 2nd view perspective from a child that’s scared to go to sleep at night.
mixed media
Mixed media refers to artwork created using a combination of different materials, techniques, or mediums within a single piece. Usually a blend of traditional mediums like paint, ink, and pencil with unconventional materials such as fabric, wood, metal, or digital components. This piece started with a drawing by hand and continued digitally to add color and texture into the illustration.
traditional medium
Traditional medium refers to artwork created using classic materials and techniques that have been part of artistic practices for centuries such as drawing, painting or sculpture. This painting experimented with a hand-pouring technique of acrylic paint and a hand painted a frog into the scene to combine a mix of surrealism and realism.

I was freelanced to design a book cover for a client who was writing his own fictional story called, THE MISERY OF SHE. The client wanted it in black and white and provided a very detailed vision of how he wanted the characters on the cover to look like.
This cover art started with many hand drawing sketches and led to putting it all together digitally with the final touches done in Adobe Photoshop.

This project was to design a new book cover and I chose to recreate the one of my favorite stories as a kid. I started this piece with acrylic paint and scanned it into the computer to continue digitally with Photoshop.
